If you come to the UK from abroad to work, you will need to apply for one. To apply for a NINO in England, Scotland or Wales, you should telephone the Jobcentre Plus NINO service. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can contact your nearest NINO processing centre. You can find out more on the NI direct website.
How do I find my UK NIN number?
You can find your National Insurance number on your payslip, P60, or letters about tax, pensions and benefits. You can also find it through your personal tax account and download a confirmation letter.
How do I get a S1 form UK?
You can request this by calling NHS Overseas Healthcare Services. The INSS will give you a document which you need to take to your local health centre. If the UK pays for your healthcare, for example through an S1 form, you cannot register for healthcare as a permanent resident.
